Manufacturing Skills Australia
What we do
Manufacturing Skills Australia (MSA) is addressing the skills needs of over 75,000 manufacturing businesses employing almost one million Australians. We are the national Industry Skills Council that is recognised by the Australian Government and the manufacturing industry to ensure that the skills needs of enterprises are being met.

We are a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, owned by industry and managed by a board from across industry. We have a range of reference and advisory groups and we constantly seek information on industry workforce development and skills needs. In our work we:

Assemble industry intelligence: we research the current and future skills needed by the manufacturing industry to compete in global and domestic markets. We assist industry with workforce development and identifying skills needs.
Provide independent skills and training advice: we match identified training needs with appropriate training solutions. We also work with governments to allocate training places under the Productivity Places Program.
Establish skills standards: we develop, supply and continuously revise high quality, nationally recognised training and workforce development products and services.

The MSA Continuous Improvement Register is now the mechanism for ensuring manufacturing units of competency and qualifications are kept up to date and continue to meet industry needs. Under current DEEWR policies, Training Packages are to be ‘continuously’ monitored and updated on a needs basis.

Your input is now even more important. By registering your feedback, you will become a valuable partner in ensuring that the products that support nationally recognised training in manufacturing continue to meet industry’s current and future needs. Comments, suggestions, corrections and recommendations for improvement can be submitted at any time.
