The Science Group advises the Minister for Education, Science and Training and administers Government science funding programmes to help Australia achieve a strong science, research and innovation capacity and to be engaged internationally on science to advance our social development and economic growth.
Science Group liaises with the portfolio science agencies and other departments, and maintains effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders in the science, research, industry and general community sectors.
Science Group also provides support to the Chief Scientist of Australia and the Prime Minister’s Science, Engineering and Innovation Council.
