If you are commencing teaching in NSW or are returning to teaching in NSW after an absence of 5 years or more, you will need to be accredited.
Accreditation attests that a teacher has met the
Professional Teaching Standards for one of the key stages. The accreditation decision is made by a Teacher Accreditation Authority (TAA). All accreditation decisions are recorded by the NSW Institute of Teachers.

The Institute will send you your accreditation number and an information package after your application for accreditation has been determined by the TAA and all paperwork forwarded to the Institute.
