Welcome to the Australian Schools Innovation in Science, Technology and Mathematics (ASISTM) Project website.

The Australian School Innovation in Science, Technology and Mathematics (ASISTM) project aims to bring about real and lasting improvements to the ways in which science, technology and mathematics are taught in schools. Over the five-year life of the ASISTM project the Australian Government has funded more than 350 school cluster initiatives involving over one-fifth of Australia's schools, 1000 partner organisations including 36 of Australia's universities, and over 2000 teacher associates. At this stage further rounds are not planned.

For more information about the projects that have been funded throughout Australia, go to the Successful Projects page.

In 2007 Deakin University prepared an ASISTM Exemplary Practice Report. This report describes research into 16 ASISTM projects, selected from Rounds 1 and 2, to be broadly representative of exemplars in innovation. Case studies of each project were constructed from interviews with a range of key participants, and used to develop and refine an innovation framework that is used to make sense of and describe the key features of each project.
