PM demands more school transparency
The Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has announced he will make federal education funding conditional on agreement from the states and territories that they provide information about the performance of schools around the country.
School computer roll-out stalling
In the lead-up to last year's federal election, Kevin Rudd promised an 'education revolution' and, as part of that plan, he promised one billion dollars to provide a laptop for every student between years 9 and 12.

It used to be called truancy, now it's known as 'school refusal', but whatever the name, it's on the federal government's radar this week with new legislation being introduced in Parliament.
